Helping young people get the most out of life

Our aim is to provide you with some information on Scouting in our District,
Each Section has a page with links to maps to show you where we meet.
It has been a long term wish of the Leaders that we should have a website that
will attract new members to join us and see that we have lots to offer the
young people of Westminster.
Our aim is to continually update the site with news and information, so
please visit regularly.
In the 95 years that we have served the local community, Scouting has
gone through, many changes to uniform and programme, but we still offer
"better Scouting to more young people"
The Methods of Scouting that Baden-Powell wrote in Scouting for Boys 100
years ago are still in use today in every Colony, Pack, Troop or Unit
throughout the Country. We still tie knots, go to camp, cook on open fires and
learn first aid, but we have progressed with the times and progressed forwards
- out have gone the shorts, the "bob a Job" and the "dib, dib, dob".
There is always a need for adults to support the various sections. Support
comes in various forms: Group Treasurer, Secretary, fundraiser, or, if you have
the time, why not give direct support to the young people and become a Leader
or Helper at one of the Sections.
If you want to find out more or want to get involved please
contact us and we will supply
you with the relevant information.
Part of the appeal of Scouting is the provision of adventurous activities.
The Scout Association has strict rules regulating activities and, when
appropriate, trained instructors are used.
